A second round of snow in as many days is made for a challenging morning commute in some areas of the region.

Travel times were reduced significantly on all area expressways as a result of light snow that began falling around 5:30 a.m.

Indiana State Police reported numerous, scattered slide-offs and spin-outs on the Borman Expressway and Interstate 65. No serious personal injury accidents were reported.

Illinois State Police responded to a host of spin-outs and slide-offs on the Bishop Ford Freeway, Kingery Expressway and Interstate 394.

As of 11 a.m., police reported improved road conditions with a few minor accidents continuing.

Police urged continued caution while driving throughout the region.
