Head football coach Ryan Turley will be the featured speaker for the annual dinner meeting of the Hobart High School Alumni Association on Friday at Hobart High School, 2211 E. 10th St. Doors (enter Door 21) will open at 6 p.m., dinner will be served at 6:30, and the program will start at 7. Dinner includes chicken or salad entree, rolls, vegetable, beverage and dessert.
HHS vocal ensemble Wolffgang will entertain. Two scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors and new HHSAA board members will be elected.
Cost is $12 per person, or $20 per couple. Tickets can be purchased at the high school office, and will not be sold at the door.
Earth Day giveaway
Friends of Robinson Lake are celebrating Earth Day by giving away bare root hazelnut and nine bark shrubs, and pin oak trees, from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Robinson Lake, approximately 5205 S. Liverpool Road.
Native wildflowers will be for sale for $2 each.

Total 80’s Night will be held from 6 p.m. to midnight Saturday at Hobart American Legion Post 54, 208 S. Linda St., hosted by the Sons of the Legion.

Two garage sales
Applications are being taken from Hobart residents for the Hobart City Wide Garage Sale, set for 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 18.
Registration is $10 and includes garage sale listing of main items and location, and one yard sign. Hobart residents can pick up a list of participating addresses and main items being sold.

Also, American Legion Post 54 will host a group garage sale on the same day in the American Legion parking lot, 208 S. Linda St.

Spots are selected when payment is made. Vendors must provide their own table and two chairs.
The Marine Corps League Auxiliary will have coffee and sweets available at 7 a.m. and will have lunch items available for purchase. Washrooms will be available.

Hobart Arts League, 3850 Howard St., is now offering Basic Beginning introduction to art classes from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday. Some supplies are included.

Senior Health Fair
Miller’s Senior Living Community hosts a Senior Health Fair from 9 a.m. to noon May 2 at Woodland Park, 2100 Willowcreek Road, Portage.
Vendors who provide services for senior citizens will be on hand, and First Source Bank will bring a shredder to safely destroy unwanted documents. A light lunch will be served at noon.
