HOBART | Members of Indiana/Kentucky/Ohio Regional Council of Carpenters lent their skills to the Hobart Pop Warner Football to renovate existing bleachers and a press box at Aaron Cooper Field in Hillman Park.
"We know that when we give back to the community, we are helping to create a great place to raise our families. Working with Pop Warner was an added bonus since many of our children play on these fields,” said Tom Dorsey, senior supervisor of the union.
Ryan Pendleton, president of Hobart Pop Warner Football, praised the volunteers. “The amount of work the carpenters have donated to Hobart Pop Warner, 160+ man hours in two days, is overwhelming. Parent volunteers could not have accomplished that quality of work in such a time frame," he said.
While carpenters provided the labor, Rebuilding Together Hobart-Lake Station supplied necessary materials.
