HOBART | A Cedar Lake man used a company credit card to make unauthorized gas purchases, police said.

Wyatt Clayton Squyres, 22, was charged with theft and fraud through Lake Criminal court.

Police were contacted by an operations manager of Furmante, 1931 Northwind Parkway, in connection with a gas credit card used by an employee.

An investigation showed that an employee had used the gas card 47 times in one month and had spent close to $2,000.

The investigation also indicated the employee, who had been issued the card, had been on sick leave during the credit card use.

Squyres admitted to police he had driven the car of the other employee and had made unauthorized purchases.
