Poppy Days this weekend
Poppy Days have become a familiar tradition in almost every American community.
Members of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 54 will be stationed in front of several local stores Saturday and Sunday, offering poppies for a good will donation. Poppies are hand made by veterans in hospitals under Auxiliary guidance, and for some the small fee they receive for each flower is their only income.
All proceeds are used entirely for the benefit of veterans and their families.

Hobart Post Office employees will hold a food drive Saturday for the Hobart Food Pantry. Place your bag of nonperishable food for pick up at your door step on Saturday morning to be picked up by the postal workers.
Hobart Kiwanis members will also be on hand to help unload, sort, and box the items for distribution to needy families.
