HOBART | A Chicago Heights man broke into a cigarette store in Hobart and stole cartons of cigarettes valued at nearly $4,000, police said.

Rickie Devon Foy, 30, was charged Monday in Lake Criminal Court with burglary, theft and criminal mischief.

Police said they were called Nov. 30 to the Smoke Shop, 710 N. Hobart Road, for a report of a burglary, court documents state.

A store employee provided police with a surveillance video showing two men breaking in and removing cartons of cigarettes from the store, court documents state.

Dyer police Detective Kyle Kozubal, who was conducting an investigation of similar burglaries, looked at the video and identified Foy, court documents state.

Foy had been a suspect in a similar burglary in Highland and others throughout the Midwest, court documents state.
