The Suncrest Christian Church is seeking volunteers to help build walls that will be used at homes of families in need.

The programs will take place Saturday at Suncrest's St. John campus, 10009 Parrish St., and at Joan Martin Elementary School, 301 E. 10th St. in Hobart.

Work begins at 8 a.m. at the St. John location and at 9 a.m. in Hobart.

Walls created will be used by Habitat for Humanity during projects this fall.

Jamie Ward, pastor at the church's Hobart campus, said no construction experience is needed and materials will be cut in advance of the programs.

Ward said the sites will be safe for children to participate.

Tools will be available, but participants are asked to bring hammers.

Construction materials have been provided by local businesses.

Lunch will be provided during the programs, Ward said.

People interested in participating are asked to call Suncrest at (219) 365-9000.
