HOBART | A Valparaiso woman caught shoplifting at Sears threatened a security officer with a knife and fled with two companions, police said.
Danielle Starlet Lloyd, 24, of Valparaiso; Stephen Kent Morphis, 30, of Wheatfield; and Lindsay Michelle Stewart, 20, of Chesterton, were charged with armed robbery and theft in Lake Criminal Court.
Police were called to Sears at Westfield Southlake mall July 22 on a report of a shoplifting.
A security officer confronted a woman who was leaving the store without paying for several items, including a red tie, black belt and men's boxer briefs.
Instead of stopping, the woman pulled out a pocket knife and threatened to cut the security officer, court documents state.
The woman got into a Saturn SUV with another woman and a man and drove away.
Police were able to track down the three after the security officer got the plate number showing the car was registered to Morphis, records state.
