HOBART | The Deep River Grinders take on volunteers from the Shriners International organization in a vintage baseball benefit game Sunday at Deep River Park, 9410 Old Lincoln Hwy., Hobart.

"We are involved in this fundraising effort because the child of one of our players is the benefactor of the Shriners Hospital' medial care and expertise," said Jim Basala, Grinders founder and game umpire.

"His health brings the Shriners' mission near and clear to our hearts."

During the game, players and volunteers will accept donations for the Shriners Hospitals. Additionally, money generated by the sale of sarsaparilla will be donated to the Shriners Hospital.

The game starts a 2 p.m. Bring lawn chair or blankets.
