HOBART | A manager at the Dollar General, 7844 E. Ridge Road, was assaulted Saturday after confronting a shoplifter, police said.
The incident was reported to police shortly before 3 p.m.
The manager said he locked the front doors of the store after observing a man place several bottles of body wash into the front of his pants, police said.
When the manager attempted to stop the man from leaving, the manager was thrown to the ground twice, police said.
The suspect, who was wearing a yellow hard hat and a yellow raincoat, left the scene, police said.
The store manager declined medical attention.
