HOBART | A former Best Buy employee stole five televisions from the store while working there in December, police said.
Dionte Lamont Flowers, 33, of Gary, was charged in Lake County court with five counts of theft.
Police were called Jan. 28 by a Best Buy manager and a security guard in reference to five missing Samsung televisions, court documents state.
The security manager said he had reviewed surveillance and transaction records and identified an employee, Flowers, as the person removing televisions from the store, court documents state.
Flowers was assisted with the thefts, which occurred between Dec. 20 and 27, by another employee who has not yet been charged, court documents state.
Total monetary loss to the store is $7,238, court documents state.
