St. Bridget Church, 114 Center St., Hobart, is the place to be Sunday for a Style Show and Luncheon that includes a beautiful basket raffle.
The doors open at 11 a.m. for socializing and checking out the baskets, with lunch served at 1:30 p.m.

Legion to roast commander
American Legion Post 54 Commander Robert Hamady’s good ole' fashioned farewell roast, hosted by Commander-elect Earl McDowell and Shelly Slade, will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Hobart American Legion Hall, 208 S. Linda St.

City-wide garage sale
Applications are being taken from Hobart residents who want to register to hold a garage sale on the same day as the Hobart City-Wide Sale, set for 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 18.
Registration is $10 and includes garage sale listing, main items and one yard sign. Hobart residents can pick up a list of participating addresses and main items that are being sold.

Applications are being accepted by Hobart’s Special Events Department for its Summer Market on the Lake, from 3 to 8 p.m. every Thursday, June 6 through Sept. 26, in Festival Park, 111 E. Old Ridge Road.

Photo deadline Monday
“Captured in Time” is the first juried photography exhibit to be hosted by the Hobart Arts League, 3850 Howard St., Hobart.
Open only to photographers, download the prospectus at www.hobartarts.com. Entry deadline is Monday, and the exhibit will be open from May 5 to 31.

Police try outreach
The Hobart Police Department is starting a new trial outreach program at the Hobart Government Building, 705 E. Fourth St. (former Hobart Middle School).
This Community Athletic Program is designed to give the Hobart youth a safe place to "hang out" and get some exercise, while providing interaction between the community and the police department. The gym will be available for exercise and games, and a section for study or just conversation.
