HOBART | A 23-year-old Hammond man used a large stick to brutally beat another man outside a Hobart bar, police said.
Ronald J. Neely was charged Monday in Lake Superior Court with two counts of battery.
Police were called to the Depot Bar, 1429 W. 37th Ave., on June 9 about a fight inside the bar, court documents state.
Neely was identified as one of four individuals who was thrown out of the bar after being involved in the fight, documents state. He them became involved in a second fight in nearby woods, documents state.
Neely allegedly used a large stick to beat a man, who suffered numerous facial injuries.
