HOBART | The Hobart Community Foundation recently awarded more than $19,000 in grants to several local organizations.
The grants were awarded to the American Legion Post 54, the Answer for Pregnancy Aid, Hobart Food Pantry, Parents as Teachers, the Hobart police canine unit, Hobart Middle School and Hobart Humane Society.
The Hobart Community Foundation holds two annual fundraisers each year: the Dam Duck Race and the Mama Mia spaghetti dinner.
This year the dinner will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Feb. 28 at St. Bridget Center, 101 Center St.
Tickets are available at the door, from foundation members, or at the Hobart Chamber of Commerce, 1001 Lillian St.
Organizations wanting to become recipients of grants from the foundation should submit an application by March 31.
