Hobart Family YMCA, 601 W 40th Place, Hobart, will  host its annual Healthy Kids Day from 10 a.m. to noon March 9, with free admission for all Hobart children.

Health screenings will be available, and children will enjoy children Bouncy Houses, games and fun activities. The Hobart Police Department, sponsored by Hobart Kiwanis Club, will offer child ID’S to parents or guardians who request one.

Free show for seniors

Hobart High School's Thespian Troupe's 3 p.m. March 10 performance of "Do Black Patent Shoes Really Reflect Up?” at Hobart High School, 32 E. Seventh St.,  is free to Hobart senior citizens. Appetizers will be served at 2. Registration is required by calling (219) 947-7777 and seating is limited.

Market seeks vendors

Applications are being accepted for the Summer Market on the Lake sponsored by the City of Hobart Special Events. The market will be open from 3 to 8 p.m. every Thursday, June 6 through Sept. 26 in Festival Park, 111 E. Old Ridge Road, Hobart.

Spaghetti dinner Thursday

The annual Mama Mia Spaghetti Dinner sponsored by the Hobart Community Foundation will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Bridget Center, 101 Center St., Hobart.

Tickets are available at the door, from foundation members or at the Hobart Chamber of Commerce office, 1001 Lillian St. For more information, call Leni Vinzant at (219) 942-5481.

Lenten service and lunch

“20 Minutes with God,” a community Lenten worship service, will be held at 12:05 p.m. Mondays during Lent through March 18 at First United Methodist Church, 654 E. Fourth St., Hobart.

Each 20-minute service is followed by soup lunch at 12:30 p.m. A free will offering goes to the Hobart Food Pantry.

Scheduled speakers are the Rev. Dominic Bertino of St. Bridget Church on March 4, Chaplain Jim Stoel of St. Mary Medical Center on March 11, and Pastor Roy Richardson of Hobart Church of the Nazarane on March 18.

Benefit dinner

A Wild Game Dinner will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. March 9 at County Line Orchard, 200 S. County Line Road, Hobart.

Proceeds will support Rebuilding Together, The Wounded Warrior Project, Pink Ribbon Connection and the Hobart Food Pantry.

The menu features fish, frog legs, salmon, venison, buffalo, turkey, and more. Ticket donation is $25, available at the Hobart Chamber of Commerce, 1001 Lillian St.

Ice cream social

A St. Patrick’s Day Ice Cream Social will be held March 15 at Millers Senior Living, 5011 Lute Road, Portage. Sponsored by First Source Bank, shamrock shakes and Luck of the Irish will be served.

The event is free to the public, but you must register by calling Gwen at (219) 764-0628.
