HOBART | The Army JROTC Leadership Team representing Hobart High School was recently recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Defense, Leon Panetta for their participation in the 2011-12 JROTC Leadership Symposium and Academic Bowl Championship which took place in D.C., June 2012. This event is sponsored by College Options Foundation.
In a letter written to Hobart Superintendent Dr. Peggy Buffington, President of College Option Foundations Terry Wilfong stated, "It is my privilege to enclose a personal letter from The Honorable Leon Panetta, United States Secretary of Defense, recognizing the Hobart High School teams for their participation in this nationally recognized leadership and academic competition."
Hobart High School JROTC was recognized on Nov. 15 at the School City of Hobart Board meeting for their dedication to academic excellence and inspiring leadership.
The HHS Army JROTC Leadership Team competed against thousands of teams from around the world to advance to the Championship.
