HOBART | A Hobart man burglarized a New Chicago home then tried to sell stolen items at a Lake Station pawn shop, police said.
Justin Collins, 26, was charged with burglary through Lake Criminal court.
Police Detective Nicholas Wardrip said he was investigating a criminal mischief report in Hobart when he received a call from AmeriPawn in Lake Station, court documents state.
The pawn shop employee said Collins, the man identified in the criminal mischief incident, was attempting to pawn several items, including a television and a video game system.
A police investigation showed the items had been stolen from a man in New Chicago who identified them as his property, court documents state.
