HOBART | A 66-year-old Hobart man was charged with drunken driving after he was involved in a crash with a school bus last week, police said.
Jerry J. Peyton was charged in Hobart City Court with operating while intoxicated and operating while intoxicated endangering another person.
The accident was reported to police March 15 at the intersection of South Linda and Lillian streets.
Hobart police and an Indiana State Police bus crash specialist responded to the scene.
The school bus driver was turning from Lillian Street onto Linda Street when she saw a Ford Explorer traveling north toward her, police said.
During the turn, the car and the bus collided.
Medics were called, but no one was injured.
A Breathalyzer test was administered to Peyton, who was found to be intoxicated, police said. He was taken to Hobart City Jail.
