HOBART | A 59-year-old Hobart resident shot a Kouts man in the shoulder after the two became involved in a dispute over a woman, police said.
Richard A. Sajdera Sr. was charged through Lake Criminal Court with battery by means of a deadly weapon.
Police were called Dec. 16 to the 3700 block of Maxwell Street on a report of a Hobart man shooting another man in the shoulder, court documents state.
The Hobart resident was identified as Sajdera.
The Kouts man, who was wounded in his upper left shoulder, was transported to St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart, police said.
The Kouts man told police had had met a woman at a Hobart bar earlier that night and she had taken him to the house in the 3700 block of Maxwell Street, court documents state.
The Kouts man said he and the woman went into her bedroom and shut the door but Sajdera broke into the room and demanded he leave, court documents state.
The woman yelled at Sajdera and told him he was crazy and that she wasn't his girlfriend but he instead got a gun and pointed it at the Kouts man, court documents state.
The Kouts man asked Sajdera if he was going to shoot him and he did, court documents state.
