Help the Hobart Police Department celebrate National Night Out – a great way to meet your neighbors, local police and community leaders - from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 6 at the City of Hobart Community Pool, 400 W. 10th St.

The pool will be open free to swimmers, and free hot dogs and soft drinks will be served. Featured activities include K-9 and S.W.A.T. Unit Demonstrations, Child Identification Cards, child seat inspections, and a 50/50 raffle.

On display will be police equipment, patrol cars, mountain bikes, ATV’s, D.A.R.E. Program custom golf cart and fire trucks. Information will be available on how to start a Neighborhood Watch Program, Home & Personal Safety, and the Hobart Police Newsletter.

For more information, call the Hobart Police Department Public Relations Office at (219) 942-1125, ext. 1070.

The Hobart Police Department recently went through some administrative restructuring and added more officers to Patrol Services, put some new police vehicles on the street and a new police dog into the program, and hired two new officers to add additional help to Patrol Services.
