HOBART | Police are warning residents not to be taken in by scam artists calling residents and representing themselves as from the federal government.

Callers are telling residents they have been selected for an Obamacare card, police said.

The resident is then asked to provide information including bank accounts and Social Security numbers.

The Better Business Bureau has issued several warnings related to the Obamacare scams, police said.

Police caution residents to never give out any personal information such as credit card or bank account numbers, date of birth or Social Security numbers to unfamiliar callers.

For more information on Obamacare or the Affordable Care Act, go to healthcare.gov.
