HOBART | The city has established cooling centers for residents seeking relief from the high temperatures.
Hobart opened the following three locations to the public from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Fire Station No. 1, 400 W. 10th St.; Fire Station No. 4, 7710 S. Colorado St., and Hobart police headquarters, 705 E. Fourth St.
The Hobart branch of the Lake County Public Library, 100 Main St., also is available as a cooling location from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
Seniors can go to the Maria Reiner Center, 705 E. Fourth St., from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Senior citizens also can use a new program set up through Brentwood at Hobart called The Shade Brigade.
