HOBART | Thieves took tools from a shed and a wallet and handgun from a car in separate weekend incidents, police said.

The shed and the car  had been left unlocked, police said.

Residents are being reminded to secure their property.

Two residents in the 3800 block of East 34th Lane reported shed break-ins occurring April 6.

Items taken from one of the sheds, which had been unlocked, included a chainsaw, a miter saw, air compressor and ladder valued at $500, police said.

No items appeared missing from a second shed break-in.

A third resident, who lives in the 1100 block of High Street, reported the theft of a handgun and wallet from his parked but unlocked car.
