HOBART | The city plans to celebrate National Night Out Against Crime from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 6 at the community pool, 810 W. 10th St.
It's an annual nationwide event encouraging residents to get out in the community and meet their neighbors. It's intended to encourage crime prevention.
The local event features free swimming, hot dogs and soft drinks.
Activities will include police demonstrations, free child identification cards and car seat inspections, Fire Department demonstrations, a magic show for children and a 50/50 raffle.
Police and fire officials will display patrol vehicles, police mountain bikes, ATVs, a police motorcycle and other police vehicles.
