HOBART | Live entertainment and a children's arts and crafts tent will be new events at Hobart's Summer Market on the Lake when it reopens June 6, city officials said.
The market will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays through Sept. 26 at Festival Park, 111 E. Old Ridge Road.
The Summer Market live entertainment, held from 4 to 7 p.m. each Thursday, will feature Kent Arnsbarger, Joey Edwin, Mark & Regina, Dan Riesen, Ronn Barany and Allen Wronko and Friends.
The Rhythm, Rhyme & Party Time children's arts and craft tent will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Art teachers will feature a new art project or craft that children can take home the same day, said Raeann Trakas, Special Events coordinator.
Also new this year will be the Maria Reiner Center Book Mobile where used books will go up for sale.
Parking inside Festival Park will be limited this year with first priority to handicapped visitors.
A golf cart shuttle manned by volunteers will be available to take people from the Rugby Field parking lot, across the street from Festival Park, into the market area.
Reusable Hobart Summer Market grocery bags will be available, free, each week on a first-come, first-served basis.
There also will be some new vendors at the market, including JNJ Organic Farms, Aunt Jayne's Confections and Mad Crafters and Crafty Colors.
Returning vendors include Noak's Popcorn, All Soup'd Up, A Little Something Special, Verduzco Produce and Little B's Frozen Desserts.
