HOBART | The School City of Hobart, Parents As Teachers, and Hobart preschools, in conjunction with the City of Hobart, are celebrating the  Week of the Young Child this week. Daily activities will focus on the youngest citizens of Hobart, from prenatal to age 5. Families with young children are encouraged to participate in as many activities as possible.

The School City of Hobart believes early childhood education is vital to the community, and that children need a strong early learning foundation to succeed in school, and go on to succeed in life.

"You can make a difference by supporting early literacy, reaching out and working with teachers and parents who help young children get a great start, and supporting policies that provide high-quality early learning opportunities for all young children," said Sherri Eberle, media specialist at the Early Learning Center at George Earle School.
