HOBART | A ticket bound together with others in a tote bag was worth $500,000 for a Hobart woman.
Lesley Pizer won the money June 28 during a second-chance drawing by the Hoosier Lottery. According to a news release, she entered her nonwinning $500 scratch-off ticket online for a second-chance drawing.
Pizer told the Hoosier Lottery she had recently moved and couldn't find the winning ticket that she needed to show to receive the money. She knew the ticket was bound together with other tickets inside a tote bag, but she couldn't remember where exactly she left it.
"I was a nervous wreck until I had that winning ticket in my hand," she said to the Hoosier Lottery.
Pizer presented the ticket Tuesday to Hoosier Lottery officials in Indianapolis.
According to a news release, Pizer plans to use the money to take her 22-month-old daughter and 13-year-old daughter to Disney World. She also plans to celebrate by treating her boyfriend to a steak dinner.
Pizer could not be reached for comment Wednesday afternoon.
