HOBART | Two Illinois men stole several debit cards then used one from a Florida man to steal more than $6,000 through ATM transactions, police said.
Eugene Childs, 34, of Hazel Crest, and Adesina A. Oluseyi, 28, of Markham, each were charged Friday in Lake Superior Court with two counts of theft, two counts of fraud and two counts of identity deception.
Police were called Wednesday to Centier Bank, 3198 E. 81st Ave., about two men who were asking about the ATM, court records indicate.
Police spoke to the two men, Childs and Oluseyi, and found they had several debit cards and money orders from Walmart not in either of their names.
One of the debit cardholders, who lives in Florida, told police someone had withdrawn more than $6,000 without his permission from his account through Hobart automated teller machines.
