HOBART | On Thursday December 6, second graders at Joan Martin Elementary put on a wonderful production called 'The Nutcracker Suite' at Joan Martin Elementary.
It was produced by the Joan Martin Elementary music teachers, Mrs. Audrey Amsler and Mrs. Kristen Loos. They danced and sang to eight different songs such as Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies, Waltz of the Flowers and many more. There were 126 students involved in the production. There were also 28 students involved who had solo speaking parts. There was an evening performance at 6:30 pm at the school, but first, they had to warm up for a treat for their family and friends. They sang with joy and amusement to some of the most beautiful songs. They had adorable moves, especially in the song ‘March’. All of the students participated and followed the rules, even though a few laughs occurred.
Mr. and Mrs. Griffith said, “I think that the singing and dancing was amazing. I love the way the stage is decorated with the Nutcrackers and snowflakes and the way the kids were dressed in Holiday Cheer.” Mr. John Clemmons said, “I think that this was a wonderful experience. I have been here before and they treat people nicely and the kids did a wonderful job!”
