HOBART | Each year the Hobart Kiwanis Club selects four seniors from three area schools to receive $1,500 scholarships.
Two are chosen from Hobart High School, and one each from River Forest and Lake Station high schools. Three of the four young people who received this year's scholarships attended a recent Kiwanis meeting to explain their future plans.

Seth Hamilton is the second Hobart High School winner. He now attends Valparaiso University and hopes to become a high school math teacher, and to eventually obtain a doctorate and become a college professor.
Heather Easton is the River Forest High School scholarship winner. She is attending Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, and her goal is to get a degree in forensic science and work for the FBI.
Lake Station Edison High School's winner, Ashley Abila, plans to study broadcasting communications and become a radio or TV host.
