HOBART | The NWI Parkinson’s Association will host its fifth annual Educational Symposium Saturday, April 22 at Avalon Manor, 3550 U.S. 30. Registration begins at 8:15 am. The program ends about 2:30 pm.
The program costs $20 per person or $35 per couple, which includes one caregiver, family member, or friend and covers a continental breakfast, luncheon, and all materials.
Speakers include: Dr. Jennifer Goldman, of Rush Medical Center; Martha Bohn, Ph.D.; Dr. Cindy Zadikoff, of Northwestern University; Dr. Tao Xie of the University of Chicago; Dr. Arif Dalvi, formerly of the University of Chicago and Director of Movement Disorders at NorthShore University; and Dr. Jennifer Pallone, of The Neurological Institute & Specialty Centers of Northwest Indiana; plus several other health care speakers and exercise specialists.
Topics will cover the latest in Parkinson medications and treatments, memory issues, stem cell research, deep brain stimulation, gene therapy, voice therapy, sleep disorders, the value of exercise, and types of exercise available in our area.
This event is for Parkinson patients, caregivers, family members, health care professionals, and the general public. Continuing education credits are available for attending.
