HOBART | A good Samaritan was robbed of $40 in cash after she offered to help a couple who told her they were having car trouble, police said.
The robbery was reported to police at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday outside Walmart off U.S. 30, Hobart Police Detective Sgt. David Evans said.
The woman told police a man and a woman approached her while she was in the parking lot and asked her if she had jumper cables because they were having car problems, Evans said.
The woman offered to drive the couple to nearby Sam's Club, where the car problem could be addressed.
Once inside the car, the couple demanded cash from the woman.
The couple didn't display a weapon during the incident but implied they had one on them, Evans said.
