HOBART | A Hobart man stole items from the house of a New Chicago man and later pawned them, police said.
Patrick James Jalk, 27, was charged with burglary through Lake Criminal Court.
A New Chicago resident called police Aug. 1 to report his bedroom window screen had been cut and his home broken into.
The man reported several items missing, including an Xbox controller and television set.
Jalk was later seen on surveillance video pawning the items at a shop in Lake Station.
Jalk previously had been charged with other counts of burglary and receiving stolen property involving other thefts from homes.
