HOBART | The Parks Department is offering a tree-buying program for residents in hopes of getting new plantings at several of the parks, officials said.
Hobart Parks Superintendent John Mitchell said residents will be given a choice of six to eight tree varieties to pick from through Remus Farms in Hobart.
Once the resident buys the tree, a department staff member will pick the tree up and plant it at the designated park.
"We'll supply the labor," Mitchell said.
He said there are five to six parks in Hobart that are in need of new trees.
The resident can plant the tree to honor one of their children or in memory of someone who has died.
