CROWN POINT | A  Hobart man faces multiple charges following a street fight last month.

Charged with two felony counts of battery by means of a deadly weapon is 19-year-old Antonio Martin. Martin also is charged with a single felony count of battery resulting in a serious bodily injury.

One of the two men stabbed during the incident told police he and several others were sitting on his porch about 10 p.m. Aug. 1 in the 500 block of East 37th Avenue in Lake Station when words were exchanged with a juvenile passing by.

The juvenile returned with several others and a fight ensued, court records state.

Police were told Martin slashed one of the men on the shoulder, then stabbed the man's brother in the back.

Martin alleges he stabbed the man in the back while he was on top of the juvenile, court records state.
