HOBART | Two women who were dining Friday night at U.S. 30 restaurants reported that wallets were stolen from their purses, police said.
The first theft of a wallet was reported at 6 p.m. by a woman who was dining at Cooper's Hawk Winery and Restaurant inside Westfield Southlake mall, police said.
The second theft of a wallet was reported at 8 p.m. by a woman who was dining at Buffalo Wild Wings, east of the mall, police said.
The woman had gone to the restroom and left her purse unattended, police Detective David Evans said.
A credit card from the wallet stolen from Buffalo Wild Wings was reportedly used to make a purchase at Best Buy, Evans said.
Evans advises women to never leave their purses unattended while shopping or dining.
