Adopting a family

Pictured are members of Jack and Jill of America Inc. during a party earlier this month. Shown are the gifts they provided for a family they adopted during the holidays.

Jack and Jill of America's Northwest Indiana chapter partnered with Catholic Charities to adopt a local family for the holidays. The group provided food, coats, hats, mittens, clothing, toys and other household items for a family of four. Catholic Charities got the items during a brunch in Schererville earlier this month.

Jack and Jill of America Inc. is a membership organization of mothers with children ages 2-19, dedicated to nurturing future African American leaders by strengthening children through leadership development, volunteer service, philanthropic giving and civic duty. The Gary/NWI chapter has completed service projects with several organizations, food pantries and charities over the past 68 years.
