LAKE STATION | Issac Gallagher was all smiles while posing for photos with Santa at Bellaboo's Discovery Center.
The Friday before Christmas was the first time Issac had visited Bellaboo's and the 19-month-old seemed to be enjoying himself, said his grandmother, Jennifer Gallagher, of Hobart.
"Santa gave him a candy cane and he did well," Gallagher said.
She and her sister, Beth Jones, also of Hobart, had come to Bellaboo's as a play date.
Jones brought along her daughter, Ella Jones, 4, who also posed for photos with Santa inside the Bellaboo Express train.
Jennifer Muniz, of Mishawaka, brought her two children, Pelayo, 7, and Samantha, 4, to enjoy an afternoon at Bellaboo's.
"This is our fun Christmas outing," Muniz said.
After getting their photos taken with Santa, the youngsters also listened as "The Polar Express" was read by staff member Amber Westmoreland, who was dressed as an elf.
Those participating in the storytelling, which included a Christmas singalong, also enjoyed cookies and milk.
"We love this place. There's always something fun to do," said Heather Gonzalez, of Porter.
She came with her son, Zander, 4, and daughter, Charley, 4 months.
Other activities during the holiday season included cookie decorating with Mrs. Claus, letters to Santa and gingerbread fun.
Bellaboo's is at Three Rivers County Park, 2800 Colorado St. in Lake Station.
