LAKE STATION | The Lake Station Park Department is starting a new youth baseball league this month.

Registration for Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth Baseball will be from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the park office, 2701 Ripley St.

The cost for players is $50 for first child and $25 for each additional child per family.

Fees will pay for equipment, umpires, uniforms and field maintenance. Players will be able to keep hats, shirts and pants after the season is over.

All games will be played at the new Field of Dreams complex on Marquette Road.
