LAKE STATION | Registration has been continued for the city's newly formed Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth Baseball and Babe Ruth Softball teams.

Registration will be from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday at the park office, 2701 Ripley St.

The cost for players is $50 for first child and $25 for each additional child per family.

Fees will pay for equipment, umpires, uniforms and field maintenance. Players will be able to keep hats, shirts and pants after the season is over.

All games will be played at the new Field of Dreams complex on Marquette Road.

In addition to registration, the city is holding a celebration of signup event at 6 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall, 1969 Central Ave.

There will be a visit by the White Sox mascot, Southpaw, as well as refreshments and prizes.
