LAKE STATION | A 20-year-old Lake Station man was charged with having sexual relations with a 13-year-old girl, police said.
Dakota Barendsen was charged with two counts B felony child molesting and one count C felony child molesting.
Barendsen is being held at the Lake County Jail with no bond.
Police on Feb. 14 received an anonymous call requesting a welfare check on a house in the 4500 block of Central Avenue.
The caller reported concern about a relationship between a 20-year-old man and a 13-year-old girl, police said.
Police went to the house and met with Barendsen. They found him with two juvenile girls, both of whom were removed and turned over to their guardians.
Barendsen, during an interview with police Detective Brian Williams, admitted he had a sexual relationship with one of the girls.
