LAKE STATION | City officials were working to clean up a mess Wednesday night after part of an older fire station collapsed.

Nobody was hurt when part of the building caved as officials were taking a truck out of the fire station in the 3100 block of 35th Avenue, Police Chief Kevin Garber said.

He said the building's front beams may have collapsed.

Lake Station has a newer station near the city's Government Complex.
