LAKE STATION | A Halloween Benefit Bash for Edison High School math teacher Cindy McKnight starts at 6 p.m. today at 219 Bar and Grill, 2415 Rush St.

The donation is $25 at the door and a cash bar with all proceeds going to McKnight. McKnight has severe diabetes and was just placed on a kidney transplant list, event organizers said.

Prizes will be awarded to the scariest, funniest and most original costumes. The event also will include raffles for gift baskets, tip boards, prizes, food and drinks.
