LAKE STATION | Lake Station residents using city water are advised to follow a general boil water advisory until further notice, Mayor Keith Soderquist said.

Soderquist said officials on Friday were awaiting the results of water testing and hoped to be able to offer an update today.

Water problems in Lake Station first surfaced shortly after midnight Thursday due to a water main break in the 3400 block of East 20th Place.

Repairs to the main break were completed Thursday night and everyone was back on line, Soderquist said.
