3 local students win national achievement scholarships

Three local students have won Achievement Scholarship awards through the National Achievement Scholarship Program.

The students are among about 800 black students to win the awards, which total more than $2 million, according to a release from the program.

Local winners include William A. Greenlaw, of Munster; Edith D. Boiquaye, of Schererville; and Catherine M. Adams, of South Holland. The students received $2,500 scholarships.
