CROWN POINT | The Northwest Indiana chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction is offering a $1,000 scholarship for the 2013-14 academic year.

Any university or college student enrolled full-time in a construction-related undergraduate degree program who is a resident of Northwest Indiana is encouraged to apply. Students must have a 3.0 grade point average and desire for a career in a construction-related field.

Completed applications must be postmarked no later than Feb. 28. Applications packets are available at university departmental offices or at www.nawic311.org. For additional information, visit www.nawic.org/nawic/NFSF.

Last year, scholarships were awarded to local Purdue University students, Brianne Slick, of Merrillville, and Keith Daniel II, of Gary, at a dinner held to honor the recipients.
