LOWELL | a classic fairy tale comes to life next weekend when Lowell High School presents the Disney musical "Beauty and the Beast."
Forks and teacups come to life in a family show as Director Colleen Peluso, Music Director Teri Rickaby and Technical Director Patrice Martin tell the story of a beautiful maiden who spurns the attentions of a handsome but unromantic villager in favor of a reclusive beast who frightens the people of the countryside. She helps break a spell to reveal a handsome prince and, as expected, they live happily ever after.
Performances are set for 7 p.m. Thursday and March 7 and 8, with a 2 p.m. matinee March 9. Tickets are $5 for students and senior citizens and $7 for adults, available at the school, 2051 E. Commercial Ave., and at the door.
