LOWELL | A Gary man was arrested on an outstanding warrant and new drug charges Wednesday during a traffic stop in Lowell, police said.

Travis Westlake, 41, was stopped for speeding late Wednesday on Morse Street, police said. After running his information, police found an active warrant for failure to appear at a court hearing.

When officers searched Westlake’s car, they found 1.8 grams of marijuana and a glass smoking pipe, police said.

Westlake was charged in Lowell Town Court with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
