LOWELL | A 41-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday on 181st Avenue near Grand Boulevard, officials said.
Todd Middleton, of DeMotte, died in the crash, and the driver of the other vehicle was injured.
The Lake County Sheriff's Department said Middleton was traveling west at 3:19 p.m. in a 1999 Pontiac Sunfire when he crossed the center lane for unknown reasons and crashed into a 2008 Ford F-150 traveling east.
Dale Swart, 49, of DeMotte, was the driver of the Ford F-150, and was transported to Franciscan St. Anthony Health hospital in Crown Point.
Sheriff's police are continuing to investigate the collision.
