LOWELL | Beginning October 1, our class started participating in the Global Read Aloud Project! We started reading 'The One and Only Ivan' by Katherine Applegate and sharing our thinking about the book with other classrooms from across the world. We will be connecting on a more frequent basis with classrooms Massachusetts and Virginia! We are living up to Tri-Creek district’s mission statement of “…engaging, equipping, and empowering” students to learn.
We will be using two primary forms of electronic communication--Edmodo and kidblog. Students will share questions, answers, and thinking using Edmodo for informal communication and Kidblog formal communication. These are two safe social learning networks designed specifically for classrooms. In addition, we will be holding Skype sessions to discuss the book as a class and share activities and projects we have completed.
